We start our journey early, allowing time for breakfast before departing. As we descend from the Kathmandu Valley, the road winds along the valley's edge, eventually meeting the Trishuli River below. Along the way, we catch glimpses of rafters navigating the river's thrilling rapids – perhaps an adventure for your future travels – with snow-capped peaks visible in the distance.

After reaching the plains, we pause for lunch before continuing to the serene lake city of Pokhara. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel, leaving you with time to explore the local area. Stroll along the lakeside promenade, browse through the diverse shops and eateries, and take in the awe-inspiring view of Fishtail Mountain, majestically overlooking the city.

After breakfast, we take a short drive to Naya Pul, the starting point of your trek. You can choose between a bus, local jeep, or private car/taxi to get there.

From Naya Pul, the adventure begins! After passing through the checkpoint at Birethanti, the trail gradually ascends towards Tikhe Dhunga. The hike to your overnight lodge in Tikhe Dhunga takes about 4 to 5 hours. While today’s trek isn’t too strenuous, it’s just enough to get your legs warmed up for the journey ahead!

Day 3 : Trek from Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani (2,874 meters)

Crossing the suspension bridge near Tikhe Dhunga, we gear up for the day’s challenge! Today’s trek is more of a climb, as we tackle the steep stone staircase leading up to Ulleri village, with over 3,000 steps to conquer. If you’ve been opting for stairs instead of the elevator at home, it will definitely pay off here!

As we ascend above Ulleri, the trail eases up, emerging from the forest into open pastures and fields. We pass through the village of Banthanti before continuing on to Ghorepani, where we’ll spend the night. Along the way, we’re treated to views of several majestic peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545 ft) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m / 26,794 ft).

Day 4 : Trek from Ghorepani - Hike to Poon Hill (3,210 meters) then trek to Tadapani (2,630 meters)

Rising before dawn, we set out on a one-hour hike up Poon Hill (3,210m) to catch the sunrise over the Himalayas. As the crisp morning air settles in, hot tea is often available to warm us while we marvel at the stunning panorama of mountains. You'll see an impressive range including Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), among others that your guide will highlight.

After enjoying the spectacular sunrise and snapping plenty of photos, we make our way back to the lodge in Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast. We then continue our trek to Tadapani.

The trail to Tadapani begins with a steep ascent, but becomes gentler once we cross Deurali Pass. From this vantage point, we have another opportunity to take in the majestic mountains we saw from Poon Hill. We’ll spend the night in Tadapani.

Today’s trek is relatively short, allowing us ample time to explore Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung villages. A visit to the Gurung Culture Museum provides a fascinating glimpse into the lives and traditions of the Gurung people.

Known for their bravery and loyalty, the Gurungs have long served as esteemed Gurkha soldiers in both the British and Indian armies. With stunning snowy peaks surrounding us, today offers a perfect opportunity for rest and relaxation.

Savor your final breakfast of the trek before embarking on a hike through charming villages to reach Naya Pul. From there, you can take a bus or jeep back to Pokhara. The journey covers a distance of approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) and winds through picturesque landscapes along the Prithvi Highway. As you leave Pokhara, you'll travel through the lush river valleys, terraced fields, and charming rural villages of Nepal. The road follows the Trishuli River and provides beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountains.
