Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is named after two of the most sacred and spiritually significant sites in Asia—Mount Kailash (6,638 m) and Lake Mansarovar. Revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers alike, this pilgrimage is regarded as one of the holiest journeys on earth.
According to Hindu belief, Mount Kailash is the divine abode of Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati. Circumambulating the mountain on foot, known as the Kailash Parikrama or Kora, is an ancient act of devotion believed to bring peace, prosperity, and liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Pilgrims also take a sacred dip in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Mansarovar, which is believed to cleanse one’s soul and wash away sins. The entire journey is not only a test of physical endurance but also a profound spiritual awakening that connects the body, mind, and spirit with divine purity.
